At Bulgarian Muscle we believe in both gathering and sharing knowledge. Below is a list of our contributors that are helping to revolutionize how athletes train for wrestling.

Zack Tanenbaum


Zack is a three-time Kansas state champion and 2011 6A Wrestler of the Year. During his high school career, he won four region titles, in addition to four district titles and a championship at the Brute Adidas Nationals. Zack carried a perfect 40-0 record his senior year for Blue Valley North, and was awarded the prestigious NAIA Champion of Character award.

Zack went on to wrestle at Brown University where he was a 3 year starter at 141 and 149. He has since graduated and is now attending Georgetown, where he’s taking part in a post baccalaureate pre-med program.

Jeff Silveira

Associate Head Coach, Cal State Bakersfield

Jeff Silveira is the associate head coach at Cal State Bakersfield Bakersfield. He is in his first year as head coach, and has spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach on the CSU Bakersfield coaching staff. Prior to CSU Bakersfield, Jeff served as an assistant coach on the San Francisco State from 2009-14. During his stint with the Gators, the team had one Division II national champion, seven Division II All-Americans, 20 Division II National Championship Tournament qualifiers, and helped San Francisco State finish in the top 10 of the 2013 Division II National Tournament.

Jeff has also spent time coaching at both the community college level and high school level. At the community college level, Silveira he coached 27 individual state qualifiers, nine individual state place winners, four individual CCCAA All-Americans, and one individual state champion. While at the prep level, Silveira also saw success with 11 individual league champions, 16 individual section place winners, 13 individual state qualifiers, four individual state place winners, and two individual high school All-Americans.

Joey Wilson


Joey is Bay Area native, All-American wrestler, fitness enthusiast, writer, and marketer. He began his wrestling career at age 12 and went on to become a CCS Champion and placed 3rd in the California CIF State Tournament. He continued his wrestling career at UC Davis, competing at 157 and 165 pounds, until the program was dropped in 2010. Wilson then transferred to University of Nebraska Kearney, where he became a 2x NCAA DII All-American and helped his team win a national championship in 2012.

After earning a degree in Communication, he moved back to California and has worked in the fields of sales and marketing. For three years, he worked at WrestlingMart in Orange County, helping them grow their business through building a robust social media channel, engaging online content, and a strong team sales department. He has since relocated back to the Bay Area to pursue new ventures, and is an active content contributor for Bulgarian Muscle. Joey has a passion for the sport of wrestling and loves to stay involved in the wrestling community through coaching, clinics, and writing.
